Author. CEO. Mother. Amanda is the Founder and CEO of The Workaround, a parent-friendly workspace with childcare in Toronto. She is also the author of Day Nine: A Postpartum Depression Memoir, by Dundurn Press (March 2019). She has received international media coverage, including being named an Inspirational Speaker in Forbes Magazine, and is a regular contributor to The Globe and Mail. Her work has been showcased by The Toronto Star, CP24 Breakfast, CBC, The Associated Press, Toronto Life and more.
DIRECTOR - Devon Robertson
CINEMATOGRAPHER - Emily Mahu
Since grade school, Devon has had a passion for filmmaking. Currently he is a second year student at Humber College’s Film & Television Production program. He aspires to be a screenwriter/producer and hopes that his work to not only tells a story, but wrestles with the minds of audiences, and inspire others in the same way that so many films inspired him. With Deeper Than Blue, it his truest wish that audiences walk away with that same sense of hope still tucked behind their mind.
Film is Emily's favorite ,medium because it combines every admirable aspect of art a d tells a story, film changes people and brings diverse communities together. She has worked on documentaries, short films including “Lawrence House” a mini documentary about a local art gallery and local music videos and has been involved in the theatre community for a large part og her life. Emily also performed with "Dad's Garage Improv" in Sarnia for four years as well as other local plays.
PRODUCER - Nicole Hayward
Nicole has an interest in many fields of art such as theatre, writing and film. She aspires to be a director/scriptwriter and to make films about people who are different and to tell stories that havent been told before. She has many years of experience working in community theatre and loves to help people whenever she can. She hopes to bring her song cycle for the stage "On the Outside" to the Sheridan Musical theater program project in the upcoming years.
EDITOR - Connor Vowel
Connor enjoys and works well in the technical aspects of film making. He is also very creative and has a strong interest in art and photography. In the past he has taken on roles such as gaffer/grip, graphics editor, camera operator and most recently picture editor, DMT and BTS photographer on “Deeper Than Blue”. In the future he hopes to continue to work in these departments with other talented film crews.
SOUND OPERATOR - Samantha North
Samantha is a second-year student at Humber College for Film and Television Production. She hopes to work with sound in both production and post-production.She is very passionate about all aspects of sound from foley all the way to music. Some of her key skills are being very dependable and positive when working in a team setting. She is currently working on short film "Bounty 500" as director.
CAMERA OPERATOR - Sara Hayward
Sara is passionate about film, art ,music and theatre. She hopes to study Cinematography or scriptwriting as a career. When she is not watching films or reading about them on them she is usually working backstage for multiple theatre companies. Sara has written many stories over the years and with hopes to turn them into films that inspire others the way that she has been inspired. Currently she is working on a musical for the stage titled "A Great Big World".
